← LimelightAlpha notices
Updated 28 September 2026. This is a public development alpha. Paid subscriptions have not opened. These notices describe the current software. The operator’s legal identity, contact address, jurisdiction, retention schedule and final consumer terms must be completed before public launch.
Privacy and storage
We keep private product-usage counts for 90 days to understand which features people use. Signed-in page visits and game starts use pseudonymous account identifiers for daily totals. These statistics do not include chat text, camera images, Discord screenshots or account tokens.
The server stores each broadcaster’s studio separately, keyed by Twitch user ID. Viewer sign-in stores a display name, user ID and an expiring session identifier for up to 24 hours. User OAuth grants are stored separately to retrieve followed live channels and, when authorized, moderated channels. These lists are cached for up to 30 seconds. Viewer submissions include their display name, selected performer and round type. The server stores the studio’s name, camera/source names, settings, game state, ratings and moderation queue in local checkpoint files. Connected account IDs and OAuth tokens are stored separately on the server with restricted file permissions. Discord discovery processes voice-channel membership and camera-enabled status; it does not obtain private calls or camera video. OBS camera video stays in OBS. Discord capture screenshots are analysed locally inside the OBS browser source. Only crop coordinates and diagnostics reach the server; screenshots are not uploaded.
A separate role-preference cookie remembers Viewer or Streamer for up to one year and does not authorize access. Essential session cookies keep you signed in for up to 24 hours; OBS pairing cookies last up to 30 days. Short-lived OAuth state cookies secure sign-in. OBS browser local storage holds connection and artwork settings, including its local WebSocket password. No advertising or analytics cookies are added by this alpha. Signing out clears the dashboard cookie. Provider disconnect removes locally stored tokens; provider-side authorisation can also be revoked in the provider’s account settings.
Public temporary-password login is no longer available. LAN administration requires a separate administrator password. Expired legacy test data is removed during cleanup. Twitch-owned game checkpoints persist until replaced or removed by the studio operator. Operational backups may retain previous data; no production retention or deletion service is implemented yet. Contact the person hosting this private test for access, correction or deletion requests. UK users can raise privacy concerns with the ICO. Launch documentation must specify the controller, legal bases, recipients, international transfers and rights applicable to the actual service.
External services and media
Connecting Twitch or Discord sends authorisation requests to that provider. GIF searches send search text to Wikimedia Commons or the selected optional provider through the server. Bundled GIFs need no external search. Previewing or broadcasting externally hosted media shares the viewing device’s IP and request metadata with its host. Do not include personal or confidential information in searches. Twitch, Discord and media providers have their own terms and privacy policies.
Bundled GIFs are original Limelight artwork. Wikimedia results include source and licence metadata; optional KLIPY results use provider attribution. Provider attribution does not grant broadcast, music or commercial rights. Use only content you are entitled to display, obtain participant permission and moderate submissions before broadcast. Rejected suggestions are removed from the active queue; chat history is bounded to 100 messages per game.
Acceptable use and ownership
Do not use Limelight to harass, impersonate, exploit others, distribute unlawful material or infringe intellectual property. Do not submit personal information about others without permission. Stream hosts remain responsible for the material they approve and broadcast. You retain rights to your own assets; local-folder linking does not upload those files. Third-party marks and media remain their owners’ property. Limelight is not affiliated with or endorsed by Twitch, Discord, OBS or GIPHY.
Alpha availability and plans
Limelight Lite provides free core games, standard layouts, audio and shared broadcasts. Participant Elite adds personal features; Streamer Elite includes those and studio customisation. A 14-day trial can be activated once per Twitch account without payment details. Live payments are currently disabled. The Plans page distinguishes available features from future work. The software may change, pause or fail during testing. Simulations do not certify real OBS hardware, third-party service access or uninterrupted availability. Nothing in these notices excludes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
Payments and optional support
When payments open, checkout and payment details will be handled by Stripe. Limelight will store account identifiers, subscription status and a transaction ledger, never your card number. Prices and any optional additional support are confirmed at checkout. Additional recurring support repeats for the selected billing period. Partner discounts and credit are based on the listed plan price, excluding extra support; refunds and disputes reverse related credit. Public thanks are optional and use a name you choose. A free trial does not become a paid subscription unless you explicitly complete checkout. Cancellation controls will be available through the billing portal. Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
